In this section we present general information about disabled person access to Warsaw made easy. You will find here some museums and other venues classified according to their accessibility for disabled tourists in the wheelchairs. We also provide you with the details about regular and reduced tickets. The tourists from EU countries who are the holders of disabled cards are entitle to some reductions. However, they are not recognized in every institution.

Next to each object there are symbols which indicate whether it is accessed by wheelchair:
Obiekt dostępny - the building is accessible by wheelchair
Schody - a walker of capable of climbing steps
Obiekt niedostępny - the building is inaccessible by wheelchair
Ubikacja przystosowana - full accessible toilet
Ubikacja nieprzystosowana - inaccessible toilet

Since the mid 1990's the disabled access in major cities such as Warsaw is constantly improving to meet the EU regulations. All new buildings must incorporate easy access for wheelchair users and many older developments are in the middle of refurbishment to include lifts, ramps and wide entrances. Hoteliers have made a big effort to upgrade lobbies, facilities and rooms to accommodate the disabled and the city now has a good selection of wheelchair friendly hotel accommodation. At least there are 1-2 adopted rooms available in each hotel. However, the disabled tourists especially on the wheelchair still encounter a lot of public places and buildings where the access isn’t easy.
